Abstract Design Style Competition
2nd Prize Winner
Co-authors: C. Aparnaa and Sparsh Patlan
Lines are projections of varied units of figures dissected or organised in a certain form and can be explored in a multiplicity of ways. Utilization of a multitude of forms, density and complexities of lines in tandem with a colour palette inducing particular emotions are tools to interpret and analyse, create and represent designs in various domains. The design style reflects the juxtaposition of these forms with playfulness as the catalyst to evoke new meanings. Lines and colours are used to depict streets on a two-dimensional space that further guides its three-dimensional representation. It juxtaposes them into one singular parametric design which strengthens the streets and the activities that play in and around them and projects how they are structured by the patterns and mosaics that they emerge from.

Architecture and Film Symposium 2021
Paper and poster presented at the symposium
Co-authors: C. Aparnaa and Sparsh Patlan
The paper reviews how adeptly the reflection of space is imbibed in a person’s mind cinematically by scrutinizing two films: Lion and Swades that have diverse frameworks to promulgate the interrelations of the terms ‘memory’, ‘identity’ and ‘space’. They portray how memories and identities are intricately linked with spaces where diaspora has played a crucial role in permeating nostalgia in the character’s mind to accentuate their cultural affiliation with their homeland. The paper elaborates how spaces re-define notions of memory with time and should be a narrative of itself where it beholds the strength to form an identity thus creating a memory of its own in the minds of the people.
